Grimshaw Town Council has appointed Olive Toews the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). She will be assuming her role and responsibilities on November 3, 2025.

This key leadership position within the Town administration attracted strong candidates from across Alberta and Western Canada.

Toews resides in the Town of Grimshaw with her family, and she is currently a director with Northern Sunrise County and has been for the previous eight years. Toews began as the Director of Legislative Services and Human Resources, and then later transitioned to the Director of Finance role. Prior to Northern Sunrise County, she served as the CAO for the Village of Berwyn for over five years.

In addition to direct and relevant hands-on leadership experience in local government, Toews possesses a Business Administration Certificate, an Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration (Level I and Level II), and has a Certified Local Government Manager (CLGM) designation.

Council wishes to thank Belinda Russell for stepping into the Acting CAO role during this recruitment campaign, and for the rest of the administrative team who ensured things ran smoothly since the departure of long serving CAO, Brian Allen.
