Capital Grants Saddle Hills County


What is it?

Community organizations looking for assistance with capital expenditures to enhance the lifestyle of County residents, such as building or renovating community halls, building playgrounds or other capital projects, are asked to apply for funding through the Capital Grants program.


When are the deadlines?

Applications are accepted from July 19 to no later than October 15 of each year, for the following budget year.

Community Signs Grant Program

Saddle Hills County


What is it?

Registered non-profit societies and community groups in Saddle Hills County are encouraged to apply for the Community Signs Grant Program, which allows for the installation of signs designating communities within the County.


When is the deadline?

Groups are asked to fill out a Community Signs Grant Program Application by October 15 of the current year, in order to be considered in the following year’s budget. Applications open on July 15 of each year.

Value-Added Agricultural and Tourism Grant

Northern Sunrise County


What is it?

This $20,000 grant offers financial assistance to landowners looking to develop or expand their business in the value-added or tourism industry.


When is the deadline?

Two $20,000 grants are available each year, with an intake period from May 15 to June 15.

Community Clean Up Crews

Peace River


What is it?

To enhance and maintain the town’s beauty, the Town of Peace River is looking for interested community groups to assist with sprucing up the level of cleanliness in the downtown area.


The Town is inviting non-profit and community groups to register clean up crews in exchange for funding. Registered non-profits, clubs and organizations can sign up for 2-hour shifts. Groups must have a least four volunteers. Maps, bags and garbage picking tools are provided. Earn $200 per shift for your group.

Graffiti Clean-up Kits

Peace River


What is it?

Has your business or home been vandalized by graffiti? The Town of Peace River has a kit to help you out! The kit includes the following tools to assist with removing the mess as quickly as possible:

  • Graffiti Removal Product

  • Set of gloves

  • Bucket

  • Scrub brush

  • Paint Roller

  • Paint Tray

  • Coupon of 10% off paint from Modern Paint & Décor

Northern Sunrise County Yard Showcase Awards


What is it?

Got a beautifully manicured lawn? How about stunning flower beds? Maybe an impressive vegetable garden? Well, you’re in luck! Join the Northern Sunrise County Yard Showcase. Entries will be judged by a panel and featured on various platforms. Winners will receive a wonderful prize, a yard sign acknowledging their achievement and most importantly, bragging rights for years to come.


Share your outdoor green spaces for a chance to be showcased. Enter in one of three categories: Farm Yard, Acreage Yard or Hamlet Yard.

These awards take place Summer 2026.

Downtown Revitalization Grant

Peace River


What is it?

The intent of this grant is to encourage the revitalization of downtown Peace River to landowners who construct or renovate new mixed-use development, multi-family residential development or commercial development in downtown Peace River.


Applications should be submitted to the Town of Peace River for consideration, to be considered there are several eligibility criteria that must be met.


The maximum Downtown Revitalization Grant is:

  • First year: equivalent to 100% of the portion of the municipal property tax attributable to the increase on assessed value of the building.

  • Second year: equivalent to 50% portion of the municipal property tax attributable to the increase on assessed value of the building.

  • Third year: equivalent to 25% portion of the municipal property tax attributable to the increase on assessed value of the building.

General Grant

Clear Hills County


What is it?

Two of the examples of projects for general grants that relate to upgrades and beautification include:


  • Community Development Initiatives for projects aimed at improving local infrastructure, such as building playgrounds, community centres or public gardens.


  • Historical Preservation: Efforts to preserve local history, including restoring historical buildings, creating local history museums or organizing historical tours and events.

Yard of the Month Contest

Town of Grimshaw


What is it?

Let the friendly competition begin! It doesn’t matter if you have a green thumb or not, it only takes a little time and effort to spruce up your yard and be a winner.


Fire up the lawn mower and weed eater, pull out the gardening tools and hose, plant a few flowers, trees and shrubs. You’ll feel good when you see the results and even better if you win!


All yards are judged by their exterior appearance as viewed from the street.

Winners will receive a gift basket and a picture of their yard will be posted on the Town of Grimshaw’s Facebook page.


When is the deadline?

Yard of the Month awards will be presented for the months of June, July and August. Monthly entries must be received by the 10th of each month by filling out a form at the Grimshaw Town Office. All judging will be completed by the 15 of each month and a winner will be announced to the public.

Development Incentive Program

Town of Fairview


What is it?

By participating in the Development Incentive Programs, developers can reap numerous benefits that will contribute to the success of their projects. Programs cover the following incentives:


  • Financial Incentives: The program offers a range of financial incentives, such as tax credits, and grants, to help offset the costs of development. These incentives can significantly reduce the financial burden on developers and make their projects more economically viable.

  • Incentive for Removal of Derelict Residential Buildings: The program offers a financial incentive to property owners to help with some costs incurred in the demolition of a dwelling that falls under one of several conditions.

  • Business Façade Improvement Program: This program is aimed to provide financial incentives for a commercial business to improve the façade of a building within the Heart of the Peace Shopping District.


The Development Incentive Programs are open to commercial developers who are planning projects within the Town of Fairview and residential properties that are new and/or increase the pre-improved tax assessment value by 50% with new construction.

Community Capital Assistance Program (CCAP)

County of Northern Lights


What is it?

If you’re planning on purchasing, upgrading, constructing or renovating a recreational or cultural facility in the county, or the support communities of Grimshaw, Manning and Peace River, the Community Capital Assistance Program (CCAP) grant could provide the capital funding you need.


Project cost and funding requests must be greater than $10,000 to be considered. The maximum amount available through this program is $50,000. Under this program, registered not-for-profits, cemeteries, societies and libraries located in Grimshaw, Manning, and Peace River can apply for funding requests for no greater than $12,500.


What is the deadline?

The CCAP grant opens annually in March and closes on the last Friday of April.
