Since 1962, Freson Bros. has been a proud fixture of the Peace River landscape. For over six decades, our store has grown alongside this community, but our core philosophy remains unchanged: we believe in craftsmanship.
When you walk through our doors, you aren’t just entering a grocery store; you are entering a space where tradition and skill are practiced every single day.

This commitment to craftsmanship begins in our Butcher Shop. We are proud to serve 100% fresh Alberta beef, pork and chicken, supporting our local producers while ensuring the highest quality for your table.
Our team members are true butchers, skilled in the traditional art of meat cutting. Whether they are custom-cutting a roast to your exact preference, preparing our signature freezer packs or hand-crafting our famous in-store made sausages, their expertise is evident. From our staple recipes to our limited-time seasonal flavours, our butchers take immense pride in the products they create from scratch.
Across the store, that same dedication lives within our Mother Dough Bread Co.

Our sourdough bakers, many of whom are Red Seal bakers, operate a true from-scratch bakery. The heart of our operation is “Charlie,” our sourdough starter, who has been the foundation of our traditional baking methods for over 10 years now. By only using 100% Alberta flour and Charlie’s unique character, our sourdough bakers produce bread with a flavour and texture you simply won’t find elsewhere.
What truly makes Freson Bros. special are the artisans behind the counter. Our team members are professionals, building careers rooted in heritage. It is a privilege to teach these traditional skills in an environment where people can master a trade while taking genuine pride in the craftsmanship they share with our community every day.
We are so proud to have served the Peace Country for 62 years. I invite you to experience the difference that true Alberta craftsmanship makes.
