Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention Opens in Grimshaw

On June 22, the Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention held an open house at its new North Office that recently opened in Grimshaw on 53 Ave.

With the doors officially opened to the public, the open house featured an official ribbon cutting with Alberta’s Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Dan Williams. Grimshaw Mayor Wendy Wald was also in attendance and delivered a heartfelt introduction and participated in the day’s discussions.

Together, members of the community and surrounding area heard about the centre’s programs and shared feedback on how the centre could best help with mental health and suicide prevention for the community.

Coffee and snacks donated by Tim Hortons helped to fuel the conversation and community engagement for a day filled with regional support, breakout groups and community discussions.

The head office for the Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention is located in Grande Prairie.
