Meet Cody and Jamie Krantz, a dynamic husband-and-wife entrepreneurial duo from Fairview.
Cody, 33, founded Krantz Private Wealth Management (KPWM) in 2023, and Jamie, 30, opened Peace Diagnostic Imaging Fairview (PDI) in 2021.
Together, they embody the spirit of Northern Alberta entrepreneurship, rooted in family and an unwavering commitment to their hometown.
“The foundation for their ambition was laid early in life, shaped by the values they grew up with.
Running their own businesses has always felt natural to them.
“It’s something we both grew up around,” said Jamie. “Both of our parents ran their own businesses in the Peace Region, so it just felt like the natural path for us.”
Married in 2018, life for the couple stays full with their three young children—daughter Ellie and sons Kip and Kash (aged 2-5).
“Our kids are the heart of everything we do,” said Jamie. “Whether it’s planning for the future or just getting through the day, we try to build a life that’s best for them.”
Over the years, they’ve experienced both the challenges and the rewards of building something from the ground up. Through it all, they’ve come to appreciate how shared effort and understanding can create a strong foundation, in work and in family life alike.
“We push each other to grow, share ideas openly and inspire one another to reach new heights,” said Cody.
For Jamie, launching her clinic was about more than just a business venture, it was about coming home.
“I always knew I wanted to return to my hometown of Fairview. When the opportunity arose to open a diagnostic imaging clinic here, it just felt right,” said Jamie.
Since 2021, their two businesses have shared a location at 10208 110 Street in Fairview, creating an hub for both financial wellness and essential health diagnostics.
Before pursuing his degree, Cody gained hands-on experience in a variety of roles—from running his own painting business for two years to working in trades and service industries, experiences that gave him a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial mindset. He completed his Business Administration diploma and a Bachelor of Management degree with a major in finance, and started working in the industry in 2016, before opening up KPWM in 2023.
For Jamie Krantz, the decision to open PDI in 2021 was a response to a clear community need. After realizing accounting wasn’t for her, she found her true calling in healthcare, which inspired her to establish a private ultrasound clinic that serves patients across the region.

What inspired you to launch your business?
My journey gave me a firsthand education in the value of hard work, adaptability and entrepreneurship. I combined that grit with my passion for finance to build an independent practice. Starting my own firm allows me to operate without the constraints of a large institution, ensuring I can always offer objective advice and put the client first.
What financial services do you offer?
We provide holistic financial planning spanning investment planning (RRSPs, TFSAs, corporate accounts), retirement strategies and comprehensive insurance solutions (life, critical illness and disability) as well as group benefits.
Because of our independent structure, we offer a wide range of tailored products, from GICs and ETFs to sophisticated options like liquid alternatives or even Bitcoin.
What experience can your clients expect?
It’s an experience built on trust, transparency and personalization. From the first meeting, we focus solely on a client’s unique life goals.
We explain complex strategies in clear, straightforward language, ensuring clients feel confident every step of the way. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, independent advice while keeping fees as low as possible so clients keep more of their returns working for them.
What is your vision for the business?
In the near term, we are focused on continuing to deliver exceptional service and helping more families and business owners feel financially confident.
Long-term, my goal is to build Krantz Private Wealth Management into a leading independent financial planning practice in the Peace Region, one recognized for its trust, transparency and lasting generational relationships.

Peace Diagnostic Imaging Compassionate Care Close to Home
What inspired you to launch your business?
I recognized a significant opportunity to improve local healthcare access. The chance to open a diagnostic imaging clinic in my hometown was the perfect way to combine my passion for healthcare with my commitment to the community.
What makes your business unique?
What sets us apart is our commitment to keeping wait times short, especially for echocardiograms. We’ve even hired a second full-time sonographer, Karissa Stranaghan (who was also raised in Fairview), to help keep our wait list minimal. Timely access to care is a priority, and we do everything we can to accommodate urgent requests.
Our front-desk team, receptionists Kala Poth and Marijane Harbour, also play a big part in creating a welcoming, seamless experience for patients from start to finish.
What services do you offer?
As the only ultrasound clinic in Fairview, we provide general ultrasounds, obstetrical ultrasounds and specialized cardiovascular ultrasounds including echocardiograms.
What experience can your clients expect?
We strive to create an experience that is professional, compassionate and comfortable. I genuinely see my patients as my people, and we take that responsibility to heart.
Undergoing diagnostic imaging can be stressful, so our team goes out of its way to ensure every patient feels supported, heard and respected throughout their visit. This commitment to patient care and clinical excellence is the heartbeat of our clinic.
