In June, the Town of Fairview installed an 18-hole disc golf course that features hills, trees, water and sand bunkers.
Also known as frisbee golf, disc golf is a sport where players aim at a target (basket) and try to get it in with as fewest attempts possible. Players make their way through the course with each throw starting from where their last throw landed.
Scores are recorded, and the winner is the player with the lowest score at the end of the game.
Set upon the old pitch and putt golf course on Northwestern Polytechnic’s South Campus, this course is meant for beginner to intermediate players, but there are challenges for experienced players too.
The course is open all year long and is available to use for free. Rental discs, restrooms and concession are available during business hours at the Fairview Community Centre.
