Since 1965, only three owners came before Doucette, and he says each of them has had a commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service—providing sound, honest advice.
“The advantage with us is we deliver quality and a guarantee. Our work is efficient and carries a warranty that can be trusted. And, we have four Red Seal flooring installers,” said Doucette. “We know from experience what will work in the client’s space with their budget, so we can help our customers make the best decisions.”
Enter their impressive showroom—boasted the biggest in the North—and meet Doucette and his core in-store team. Matthew Naturkach is the warehouse manager. Scott Webb handles sales and accounting. And, newest to the team, Jamie Preuss joined the crew in 2022 as a designer and sales member.
With over 100 years of combined experience on the team, Doucette says clients can trust they will find what they are looking for and they will be satisfied with the finished product.
“Beyond flooring, we have extensive lines and brands for everything from lighting to fireplaces,” said Doucette.
When it comes to installations, Doucette and his team stand by their timelines and have a track record of keeping projects on schedule.
For both residential and industrial projects, it is important the client knows what to expect and when the work will be complete.
“Sometimes we might be one day off the mark, but a project is not going to be pushed back weeks with us. We stick to our timelines and make sure the customer is happy,” said Doucette.
United Floors Peace River also focuses on high quality outdoors items.
With a line of durable and stylish outdoor furniture that can be custom built, a full selection of grills and smokers, as well as deck and railing supplies with solid craftsmanship, United Floors can give homeowners the backyard oasis of their dreams.
“The four of us are big into cooking and grilling, and we believe in trying everything we sell, so we can give real feedback,” said Doucette. “We carry a lot of Canadian made spices. And, meat from local producer Jackknife Creek can be arranged for pick up in store.”
The team at United Floors also works with clients needing insurance-based restoration work. Their knowledge and expertise with insurance claims—how they work and the steps involved in navigating the process—can save a lot of headaches for clients.
“We are ICC accredited, so we handle all flood and fire insurance claims and have loads of experience,” said Doucette. “The sooner the client comes to us with their insurance claim projects, the easier it is for us to smooth out the whole experience and advocate for them.”
The United Floors team can also take on big projects. Recent ones included work at Glenmary School in Peace River and the new 20-unit seniors home in Falher. They have also done large projects on very tight timelines, like the Peace River Garden Court apartment building restorations they did after the building suffered two years of consecutive flood damage.
“They had a flood right before Christmas. It was a priority to pull together as a team and get the residents who were stuck in hotel rooms back in their homes for the holidays. We were able to get most of them settled in on time.” said Doucette.
