June 20 - 22 | Peace River, AB

Every four years Peace River hosts the UIM World Jet Boat Marathon, so get excited for this year's exciting event.
The international marathon draws elite racing teams from across Canada, New Zealand, Mexico and the United States—bringing global attention to our rivers, landscapes and warm northwestern hospitality.
The Peace River leg of the marathon is a partnership between Jet Boat Racing Canada and Peace River Rotaract. Together they will put on a massive three-day celebration with something for everyone.
Festivities kick off June 20. There will be opening ceremonies, a show and shine, a parade and activities along 101 Street and 101 Avenue. Racing takes place over the next two days. Events and entertainment continue at Riverfront Park.

There are fan-favorite circuit races each afternoon, and spectators can catch long leg races on the Smoky River, which is considered the most technical stretch of the entire marathon.
This event delivers a major economic boost for the area. Families, fans and first-timers will be out cheering on the racers and soaking up the energy of a world-class event. The marathon reminds us—and shows the world—that we live in a region built for adventure.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of a passionate and experienced committee that lives and breathes jet boat racing.
Jet Boat Racing Canada is a not-for-profit organization made up of three key racing associations: the Peace River Boating Association, the Wapiti River Race Club and the BC Peace Country River Rats.

Behind the scenes, over a year of planning goes into making the marathon a success. From securing grants and sponsorships to coordinating safety logistics, recruiting volunteers and engaging race teams—it’s a full-scale effort.
“We are excited to welcome race teams and fans back to Canada and specifically to our three incredible host communities: Peace River, Grande Prairie and Taylor, BC,” said Alana Bergeron, organizer. “It’s our chance to show them just how special this region is. We hope their experience leaves them wanting to return again and again.”
