Nicole Johnson Elected on October 10
The Village of Berwyn has elected Nicole Johnson as Mayor during the Village’s Organizational Meeting held on October 10, 2024. She has served as a councillor and deputy mayor during her two-plus years of service.
When Johnson first started on council, there were only three councillors; now, there is a full council of five.
Johnson lives in Berwyn with her husband, Nolan, and their two children, Jax and Hunter. They are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy quadding, camping and snowmobiling, and they love spending time with family.
In addition to her role as mayor, Johnson serves on the Lac Cardinal Regional Economic Development Board and the Berwyn Library Board, and she has aspirations to join the Alberta Municipalities Board in the future.
Johnson believes Berwyn is a strong and unified community where everyone is dedicated to making it the best it can be.
“I think it’s hard enough these days to get by. How wonderful it is to have a community where we can help one another, support each other and share great ideas for our village,” said Johnson.
She also noted that council is eager to hear ideas and concerns from residents, business owners and supporters.
“With the input of our community and the dedication of our council, I believe Berwyn will continue to thrive as a great place to live,” said Johnson.
